A
former childrens home in Sandy, Mid-Bedfordshire,
Manor Farm is a multi-purpose Family Centre providing
a wide range of services for people in need. It was completely
refurbished in the year 2000 with the help of Trust funding
and a grant from the National Lottery Charities Board.
It
has full disability access, including a lift between floors
and provides a wide range of rooms for hire, including
meeting and counselling rooms and a fully equipped training
room to cater for up to twenty people.
It
has external play areas and car parking and is used regularly
by local statutory and voluntary organisations.
The
staff at Manor Farm Family Centre are trained to provide
a creative and professional response to a wide range of
family needs.
In
2004, derelict outbuildings were completely refurbished
to create the Youth Barn, a specialist project for young
people.
The
Youth Barn Project, alongside the Family Centre, provides
a specialist resource for young people who are at risk
in the community.
Room
hire charges for the Family Centre and Youth Barn are
available on request.
Much
of the work is in partnership with Bedfordshire County
Council Social Services Department and Mid Beds District
Council. The working partnerships govern a number of principles
of good practice, including data protection, equal opportunities
and review systems.
In association with Manor Farm, a comprehensive learning resource called 'this was me' has been developed with a local media company to help young people achieve emotional health and wellbeing. For more information please click here.
