Christian Family Care - Christian Identity

Christian Family Care has grown from very radical and reforming Christian roots. The organisation was first founded in 1881 at a time when the ultimate fate for the poor and destitute was the workhouse. It has always been linked to the Christian church and rooted in the belief that the organisation’s work should be a practical demonstration of Christ’s command for us to love one another.

Today, we work in a multi-racial and a multi-cultural society and our services are, as they have always been, for anyone who we are in a position to help, without distinction. We work to a policy of anti-discrimination and we believe strongly in a caring and tolerant society in which all people are given equal value.

Our Christian foundation and values are central to all that we do.Our purpose is to meet the needs of vulnerable people in the best way possible and that is what we seek to do.

Our recruitment policy requires us to appoint the best person for the job and so we do have a broad mix of staff, some who profess a faith and others who do not. All have an equal place in Christian Family Care.

In a modern, racially and culturally mixed society, Christian Family Care seeks to demonstrate that faith and social care together can overcome the barriers that so often divide people. In domestic violence, child protection and suffering there are no barriers. All who are in need, whatever their religious background or cultural identity, are united as one.
